Kevin Toomey concentrates his practice on real estate finance and investment, including restructuring of distressed portfolio and single-asset real estate investments, foreclosures, debt financings, leasing and real estate acquisitions and dispositions.
During his career, Kevin has represented institutional investors, regional developers, insurance companies, special servicers, regional and national banks, real estate private equity funds and colleges and universities in all types of real estate transactions, including financings, acquisitions and dispositions, joint ventures, sale leasebacks, build-to-suit and ground lease developments, leasing, zoning and permitting.
Kevin has substantial experience, gained during several economic downturns, in advising clients on distressed loan and distressed real estate restructurings. He has represented financial institutions and debtors in single-asset and portfolio repositionings and restructuring of loans at various levels of the capital structure, foreclosures, deed in lieu of foreclosure transactions and workouts.
Early in his career, Kevin served a judicial clerkship with The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Superior Court and as a Lieutenant and trial lawyer in the U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps. Kevin has participated as a contributor or panelist in several continuing legal education courses on the real estate practice sponsored by the Massachusetts Bar Association and Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education.
