Ms. Patterson represents clients in civil litigation on a local and national level, with a particular focus on the defense of class action, consumer fraud, toxic tort and product liability cases. She has defended manufacturers and distributors of products ranging from pharmaceuticals and medical devices to cranes, golf cars and motor oil. Her practice ranges from single-plaintiff cases; statewide or regional representation of larger clients through all phases of discovery, trial and appeal; to serving as national coordinating counsel for several Fortune 500 companies, in both state and federal court.
Outside of the litigation context, Ms. Patterson helps manufacturers evaluate and manage potential risks as well as to develop and implement proactive compliance strategies. She provides product safety analyses and drafts product warning labels and related product literature. Her clients range from toy and beer keg manufacturers to companies whose products are regulated by the FDA.
Ms. Patterson also serves as court-appointed counsel in special medical guardianship matters, representing the interests of incapacitated persons.
Prior to joining the Firm, Ms. Patterson served as judicial law clerk to the Honorable Deanne M. Wilson, presiding Chancery judge in the Morris/Sussex vicinage of the New Jersey Superior Court. She received her law degree from Seton Hall Law School, where she served as the Appellate Advocacy Moot Court Board Director (2010-2011) and participated in the school’s Impact Litigation Clinic. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from The College of New Jersey with a concentration in Law and Society.
