Mr. Ewen concentrates his practice on all aspects of trademark law, including clearance, prosecution, enforcement, and litigation. Prior to joining McCarter & English, Mr. Ewen worked at a boutique intellectual property firm in New York, where he gained substantial experience managing trademark opposition/cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial & Appeal Board (TTAB), prosecuting and defending domain name disputes before the National Arbitration Forum and World Intellectual Property Organization, and developing anti-counterfeiting strategies targeting direct and secondary infringers on the Internet.
Mr. Ewen received his B.A. from Vassar College in History in 2004, and his J.D. from the University of Connecticut School of Law in 2009. As a third-year law student, Mr. Ewen was awarded first prize in the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers’ (ASCAP) Nathan Burkan Memorial Writing Competition for his research paper on copyright law.
