David Kane has more than a decade of experience representing policyholders seeking recovery under their insurance policies, including commercial liability, first-party property, directors and officers, and errors and omissions coverage.
David has secured recovery for both direct and additional insureds facing liabilities arising from products, toxic torts, environmental contamination, construction defects and injuries, and corporate management decisions. He handles complex insurance coverage litigation in state and federal courts nationwide, mediations, and arbitrations, as well as disputes involving insurance producers. In addition to insurance matters, David’s practice extends to general litigation. He has defended product liability lawsuits, handled breach of contract actions, and helped defeat class action certification. He also regularly reviews and drafts commercial contracts for a major product manufacturer.
David is committed to public service. From 2016 through 2018, he served a three year term as an elected member of the Township Committee in Manalapan, where he resides with his family. He currently serves as a member of Manalapan’s Planning Board and Environmental Commission.
David also routinely engages in pro bono work and has helped secure political asylum in the New York City Immigration Court for refugees fleeing persecution in their home country. Through the ReLeSe program conducted by Volunteer Lawyers for Justice, he has successfully expunged criminal records for numerous individuals seeking employment.
